Foster care comes with many challenges. River Jordan Inc. provides transitional services including peer support, life skills training, foster care recovery, transitional housing, peer coach training, and organization training courses. By signing up to participate in this event, you will be empowering individuals impacted by foster care to thrive! Don't be afraid to challenge your friends & family to sign-up and participate!
Welcome to River Jordan's 1st 5k Run/Walk to benefit aging out foster youth. The course will start at the Bay County Community Center. Packet pickup will be the day of race and is open at 9am for 1 hour. All entrants will receive a FREE shirt (if registered by the cutoff date of September 1st) and bib. If registered after September 1st, a shirt is not guaranteed but will be first come first serve. You may also buy a shirt the day of the event (quantities limited). The race will start at 10:10am. This race will not be chipped. Bathrooms available in the community center. Refreshment stations will be available along the route.
The starting line will be just south of the Trombley House and goes south over the Riverwalk Bridge into Bigelow Park. Runners/Walkers make a hairpin turn at the Rowing Club building, staying on the sidewalks and paved paths, and go around Bigelow Park and back onto the Riverwalk Bridge. Participants then proceed north into Veterans Park and under the bridge. They will go around the boat launch and continue back south passing the Arboretum and finish the route at the Trombley House.

*For Virtual Attendees: You'll receive a participant package in the mail (If other arrangements were not made to pick up) with a t-shirt, race bib, and inspirational message. Once the participant pack is received, pick a day before September 24th & RUN! More info on time submission will be available closer to the date.
We do not offer refunds and by completing registration, you are agreeing to the refund policy. In accordance with management executives, government officials, and local law enforcement we have the authority to cancel any of the events for emergency purposes, such as, but not limited to, emergency weather, virus or pandemic, threat of terrorism or government mandate. If such emergency conditions force cancelation, refunds, cannot be provided. Every effort will be made to reschedule the race. We will still run/walk if it is raining and delayed if thunder and lightning.
